The Position: Global Commercial IT Director - Neuromodulation

Boston Scientific seeks an innovative IT director to lead a dedicated team supporting the Neuromodulation (NM) division. As the top IT executive for NM, this individual’s responsibilities will be two-fold.  First, his/her role will be to provide effective IT vision, leadership, implementation and execution plans that support the business itself – ensuring that business clients receive an excellent level of IT support in attaining business goals.  Secondly, this director will sit on the division president’s Management Board, contributing his/her experience in digital product development to advance the division’s business objectives in Digital Health, developing innovative, commercial applications that will provide new strategic opportunities.


Primary accountabilities include:

  • Partner with Neuromodulation leadership to understand business opportunities, threats, needs and issues where the IT organization can make an impact and bring forward practical and innovative solutions through execution.
  • Partner with division staff to drive mutual success of the Digital Health program strategy, deliver IT platform elements, and secure IT sponsorship, resources and tools.
  • Help drive assessment of new Salesforce platform capabilities and define future state of Salesforce platform architecture.
  • Build local capabilities for the business, and balance and leverage the broader Corporate IT capabilities whenever possible.
  • Core member of the Neuromodulation Division President’s executive management board for IT and Corporate CIO IT Senior Staff representative for NM.
  • Serve as a business consultant/advisor to the business and primary liaison to Global IT services, bring global focus to problem solving and ensure our Global IT solutions, projects, resourcing and funding support the business priorities.
  • Partner with the division’s business leaders regarding marketing technology needs, including the implementation of Salesforce.com. Create focused execution leveraging the BSC global platform team.
  • Mentor and develop the next generation of leadership and talent within Global IT and specific to the Neuromodulation division. Create an empowered and inclusive organization that rewards risk taking, encourages innovation, and rewards based on contribution.
  • Set IT Strategy to support the business needs and ensure the strategy leverages the Global IT architecture and leverage / engage IT Leadership team to help you accomplish your mission or as a point of escalation where needed.
  • Drive simplification and instill continuous improvement discipline within Global IT and in the business. Strive to identify opportunities to reduce the overall cost to serve and operate new solutions and helping the business find new ways to reduce their overall cost and improve efficiency.
  • Program manage the new core services being designed, constructed, and delivered within the Director’s area of responsibility collaboratively with the business leaders.
  • Oversee the health and technical longevity of existing applications owned by the Division
  • Reinforce and reward focus on BSC Quality Vision and ensure the IT solutions that support BSC’s quality system within their teams are compliant.


REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree; Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Engineering required Undergraduate degree, required.  MBA preferred.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with matrixed leadership teams, including R&D, Marketing, Sales and IT to implement technology solutions that enhance the consumer value associated with products and improve the efficiency of our product development processes.

A Senior Electrical Designer will lead various phases of planning, site evaluations, analytical designs, design documents for proposals, report preparation, specifications, and preparation of construction documentation and electrical plans as part of a project team. This position will lead various projects with a diverse portfolio of project types and clients. 

• Lead various electrical project designs including electrical schematics, grid plan layouts, electrical power systems, lighting systems, protection and controls, and site and facility design. Follow all company, client and project design and drafting standards. 

• Lead drawing, planning, development and production work including problem analysis, design layout and calculations on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity. 

• Lead a variety of assignments using prescribed methods and standard techniques including drawing sequence and presentation, sizing various system components and refining rough sketches. 

• Lead the evaluation of designs or sketches and redlines or mark-ups on ongoing projects for quality assurance. 

• Approve reports, drawings, and tests to plan and lead design projects to meet deliverables. 

• Approve design codes and specifications related to design requirements. 

• Lead production of design drawings within scope, budget and schedule. Perform project tasks and assignments within budgeted hours and deadlines. 

• Compute volume calculations for conduit/grounding layouts, equipment and panel wiring diagrams, and relay panel schematics under the direction of the engineer.

Qualifications 

• Bachelor's with a minimum of fourteen years related experience or associate's degree in drafting technology and a minimum of seventeen years progressive detailing and design experience.

Ground Segment Engineer

The SpaceX Ground Segment team is responsible for a worldwide network of ground stations, launch site communications infrastructure, launch site optical tracking, recovery RF and optical systems, NASA Flight Operations interfaces, NASA Space Network integration, operational voice, mission control video, communications readiness testing, and real-time operations for Falcon, Dragon, and Starship missions.  


Responsibilities 

• Perform real-time ground segment operations according to timeline, procedures and flight rules 

• Perform pre and post mission analyses 

• Support and perform as a member of the flight control team for Falcon, Dragon, and Starship 

• Interface with external partners (private and government) to define control hardware and software interfaces for ground-to-space and ground-to-ground communication systems 

• Assist in the development of highly intuitive and automated operational interfaces for a variety of both commercial and SpaceX-built hardware 

• Support mission critical voice communications 

• Coordinate worldwide telemetry services for Day of Launch/prelaunch activities. May include SpaceX, commercial, AFSCN, and/or range telemetry sites 

• Perform trade studies to define communication system requirements and optimizations 

• Assist with proposals and specification development related to launch site production and launch vehicle-to-ground communication systems 

• Personally develop, design, test, and deploy mission-critical hardware as part of a close-knit team of exceptional ground segment and software engineers 

• Work closely with internal SpaceX departments such as RF, Avionics, Mission Management, GNC, Legal, and Launch as well as outside government agencies such as USAF, NASA, FAA, FCC, and the NTIA  


Basic Qualifications 

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other engineering discipline 

• 3+ years of project or industry experience with RF, controls, and/or communications systems  Preferred Skills And Experience

The candidate will mentor, coach, and lead lesser experienced engineers providing knowledge transfer to aid in growing our next generation of engineers. The candidate will provide TEMPEST engineering and technical decisions for Boeing Military Aircraft, Military Derivative Aircraft and other diverse projects. Responsibilities

Are you passionate about evaluating potential approaches and solutions to new and unusual problems? How would you like to be a member of JPL's Component Engineering & Assurance Office (CEAO)? This section is responsible for reviewing all Electrical, Electronic and Electromechanical Parts (EEE) parts for reliability related performance and advises the projects on part selection, conducts complex and sophisticated scientific experiments or theoretical analysis to determine the physical behavior of parts in a space-like radiation environment, oversees part procurement to ensure compliance with engineering requirements and maintains part inventories.

As a Magnetics Component Engineer, you will be responsible to:


  • Support the development, evaluation, selection and approval of magnetics components from design, construction, quality and reliability perspectives for use in NASA space missions.
  • Advise project management on highly complex electronic part selections that maximize reliability while considering schedule and cost constraints.
  • Develop part engineering specifications and drawings for emerging and complex magnetic components for space applications.
  • Technical interface with Mission Assurance Managers, Cognizant Engineers, and part manufacturers.
  • Lead technical surveys and audits of magnetics part suppliers.
  • Perform complex statistical data analysis and risk assessments on emerging and advanced magnetic components.
  • Evaluate the manufacturing of emerging and advanced magnetic components and develop screening methods that effectively reduce risk of use in space applications.
  • Understand potential failure mechanisms affecting magnetics components and lead failure investigations and reliability assessments.
  • Utilize the Part Acquisition and Review System (PARS) to support the parts program.
  • Serve as an essential team member within the Group, ensuring part reviews, screening, and testing, and procurement meet project milestones.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers.

Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science/Engineering, Applied Mathematics or related technical discipline with typically a minimum of 6 years of related experience; a Master’s degree in similar disciplines with a minimum of 4 years of related experience; or a PhD in similar disciplines with a minimum of 2 years related experience.

Requirements include:


  • Understanding and experience in the selection, procurement, manufacture, use and testing/screening of high reliability magnetics components for space-flight applications.
  • Strong working knowledge of magnetic properties, wire and core technology, and assembly and encapsulation engineering.
  • Knowledge of Mil-Std-883, Mil-Std-981, Mil-Std-1580, Mil-Prf-27 and relevant JEDEC specifications and requirements related to magnetics components.
  • Ability to multi-task with an established track record of meeting schedule milestones.

  • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams with design engineers, line management, and project management.
